Anna happens to see an accident happen. A young man was knocked off his motorcycle by a car that was speeding. Anna does what she can while waiting on an ambulance. The young man (Liam) reminds her so much of her brother. And the woman that hit him ... Anna knows immediately who she is even though its been 13 years since she has seen her.

That seems to be the trigger for all kinds of things. Working as a letter carrier, she can't seem to get all her deliveries done every day, so she starts taking whatever she doesn't deliver home with her. She lives a very solitaire life, and only interacts with the old lady next door, who she has known for many years.

She sort of invites herself into Liam's life. He lives with his grandmother, so Anna volunteers to help her with housework.... wants to help take care of Liam .... she even suggests that she move in to help them.

Meanwhile, Carla, the lady who hit Liam, has been coming around ... and Anna absolutely will have none of that. This is "her" family .... and Anna wants Carla to pay for her sins and what she did to Anna's family.

But who is more dangerous? Anna ... Carla ....? And while Anna is sneaking into Liam's house to spy .... who's the lady sneaking into Anna's house? All the principal players have secrets .... and everything out of their mouths are lies.

The book bounces back and forth from today to 13 years ago and back to the present. This is a roller coaster of a psychological thriller. It's enough to cause you to doubt your own sanity. The ending came out of nowhere .. and was quite a surprise.

I have read all this author's books and they have all been riveting and engaging, full of twists and turns. Highly recommend this one to anyone who likes psychological thrillers.
