This is actually a re-read for me...from several years ago...and an enjoyable trip.
FBI Agent M.K. Shaughnesssy is paired up with Special Agent Adam Thomas in order to investigate the systematic murders of young men and women attending the local college. They are all killed in different ways and it's only the latest victims that they begin to see where the bodies are missing 'trophies' .. a hank of hair from one, a finger from another, a breast from yet another.
Adam's daughter is a student at the college. A budding reporter, she comments on these cases, much to her father's dismay. She doesn't realize that with every report, she's moving closer and closer to the killer ... who is planning the next kill.
I enjoy a good Romantic Suspense and I have always found this author's books to be more mystery and suspense than romance.
The plot is a good one ... easy to follow even with a lot of possible suspects popping up here and there. I love the interaction between the characters. Liza Jane (Adam's daughter) is the teenager who is living on her own for the first time and loving it. She's very opinionated ..and everyone swears she gets it from her father. Adam is a loving father and is happy-go-lucky on the outside. He's got layers and layers on the inside. He finds M.K. very complicated ... but that's part of what attracts him. She has issues with her family as they disapprove of her choice of job.
All in all, a very good read. I did check and although there are several books by this author, she hasn't written any in this vein for quite a while. If you like a touch of romance with your mystery, this is the author to follow.
