This story of a murdered student at a boarding school unfolds alternately by three narrators; Madeline, Matt, a former Armitage alum now working as a local cop, and Jim, one of the maintenance men. I thought the story had a lot of potential, but it did not live up to it. Although I assume they were brought in to add confusion/build the mystery around the possible identity of the killer, there were a number of side stories, including that of Jim and of another teacher at the school, that seemed completely irrelevant to the central story and just served to slow the central plot down. Unfortunately, the author wasnt able to build much suspense, nor was there any real climactic moment. Overall, it was a disappointment.
