This is a lovely, and VERY British, book of Christmas recipes. "Bashed neeps," for example. Smith helpfully explains that in the south they're known as "swedes." Hmmm.... and in the United States they're known as ... ? Many wonderful sounding things I would never try in a million years, but great fun to read about.

A very enjoyable book for Christmas-crazed people.
