I really struggled to get through this one for several reasons, some of them may just be me. I really enjoyed Finlay's THE NIGHT SHIFT so I had high expectations. I didn't really like most of these characters. I felt too many current political and social hot topics were thrown in that just took away from the story. I prefer to escape these things in reading fiction (that's just my preference, others may be fine with it). I kept going only because I wanted to know who committed these murders and why. There were a few surprises and some suspense but I did not ultimately enjoy it. However, considering this was the debut and THE NIGHT SHIFT was so much better, I will check out more from this author.
