My rusty-haired partner lay convulsing on the hot asphalt, his jaw clenching and his body involuntarily curling into a fetal position as two probes delivered fifteen hundred volts of electricity to his groin.

Rookie police officer Megan Luz Tasers her obnoxious partner and fears that she will lose her job. Instead she is paired with Brigit, an intelligent member of the canine corps. The book is told from several points of view: Megan's, Brigit's and the bomber.

Megan meets firefighter and bomb squad expert, Seth when Brigit asserts her alpha self on his dog, Blast.

The mysterious bomber is a sociopath that begins his bombing training in the woods before moving on to people. His goal is mass destruction.

Megan's beat includes a mall with a number of quirky characters that could all be the unnamed bomber. Her daily rounds with Brigit lead to the discovery of the first bomb the Rattler plants to harm people. Brigit uses her drug sniffing abilities to find the device as it winds down to explosion. The unfortunate explosion in a trash can in the food court leads the media to nickname the bomber the Tunabomber.

Megan is a baton swinging, awkward young woman trying to find her spot in the world. Her adventures make you smile, laugh out loud and grimace at times.

I love Ms. Kelly's Death, Taxes series and think this one will prove to be enjoyable as well. I look forward to reading the next one in the series.
