Molly Page is only eleven when she tells her father shell look after him for ever. Since her mother died years before, its been just the two of them, taking care of each other. Then the Murphys move in next door. Wonderful Nora Murphy is Mollys dream of what a mother should be - and then there are her sons: irrepressible Warren, with his soft heart and grand ambitions; Pete, with his poetic soul and gorgeous voice; and, best of all, Billy who has all the charm and looks of a movie star and who, at eighteen, is almost an adult.

Molly grows up with her life entwined with the exciting Murphys then an invitation to vist her American godmother Mitzi Alexander in the Hamptons changes everything. A summer at the boathouse brings her closer to the mother she lost than she could have imagined and the past reaches out not just to the present but also into Mollys future. She always dreamed of marrying the boy next door. But the question is, which one?

This book is a great study in character that keeps you guessing chapter after chapter. A great summer read!
