I hadn't planned to continue this series after finding "May Day" to be sloppy and disjointed, but I gave book 2 a chance after several people complimented the series. I'm baffled that anyone could give this mess a thumbs-up. It's practically unreadable. I enjoy cozies and recognize that the genre is meant to be fun, not literary, but this book was not an enjoyable read. The moments that are meant to be humorous are so poorly described, the moment is gone before it's realized. With seventy pages left, I wasn't even sure what the mystery was meant to be or why I was supposed to be interested. Truly painful stuff.
