An edge of your seat, biting your nails, turning the pages as fast as you can, faster than your eyes can read dystopian/end of the world book. Fantastic. I loved this book. One of the best Ive read this year.
This is the first book Ive read by this horror writer and he has fast become one of my favorites!
In this book, creatures called, "Vesps" have been inadvertently released live on the Discovery Channel feed from a cave in Moldova. The world learns quickly that these creatures need humans for there brood to lay eggs in and then upon hatching they eat the body. They can not see, they only hunt by hearing. Thus, "THE SILENCE". With sharp teeth like a piranha's and hairless bodies, they grow very fast and as ridiculous as this creature sounds, the author is able to pull it off tastefully and convincingly.
FIVE STARS FROM ME!
