After a busy summer, it seems as though Maggie Carpenter and her son, Spencer, may finally find the peaceful life they were looking for. Until one crisp fall day, while exploring the woods behind their home, Spencer discovers a runaway teenage girl. Leah has been searching for her biological father and has come to the end of her leads...and her resources...in Pine Mountain.
Maggie and Spencer open up their hearts and home to Leah, and Maggie begins to discreetly help in her search. But soon Leah finds herself the object of small-town rumors. When staggering news about Leah's father comes to light, Maggie can hardly believe who it is. Is reconciliation possible? Can the past be forgotten and hope found for the future? Is there a change for a new beginning in Pine Mountain for Leah, Spencer and Maggie?
