Flynn's books are always written in the superlative and this one follows the pattern. His female characters are always the most beautiful, statuesque and smartest. His male characters are the strongest and best looking.
The good guys are the "goodest" and the bad guys are the baddest.
The plot, as usual, is outrageous and you wonder how the author will work his way out.
Why then do I give it 4 stars? Because it's fun. The bad guys are mowed down. They get what they deserve. And they invariably are very bad Muslims. ( He makes sure to say that most Muslims are really nice but these are bad ones.)
His text is very readable and there is lots of action from page to page.
Why not 5 stars? He tends to spend too much time bringing readers up to date on previous book. What James Patterson might spend a few sentences on, Flynn takes several pages. He also spends too much time analyzing his characters. About 5% editing would really improve his books.
Over all: a good read.
