I enjoyed this collection of mail-order bride stories set around Christmas-time though they would be enjoyed anytime of the year. 2 of the authors were new to me, and I will probably be reading more of their books. All the stories were really good, but my favorite was "The Prodigal Groom" by Vickie McDonough. Jolie leaves the orphanage to become a mail-order bride, but when the stagecoach is robbed and she is left alone with a wounded passenger overnight, her intended groom refuses to marry her. In "A Trusting Heart" by Carrie Turansky the bride arrives but the groom is no where to be found. It seems his father sent for her, so now what? In "Hidden Hearts" by Therese Stenzel after Elizabeth's aunt finds her a husband when her fiance finds a more suitable bride, she reluctantly becomes a mail-order bride to a widower with 2 young daughters. In the last story "Mrs. Mayberry Meets Her Match" by Susan Page Davis, Amelia Mayberry is retiring from her matchmaking business. She has one case that wasn't fulfilled, so she travels to see if perchance she can find him a bride and end her career with total success.
