Fascinating novelization of a relationship style which is now openly discussed and was then a secret hidden subculture. Rimmer is a pioneer in describing polyamory. Whether he lived it or not is not as important as the fact that he showed others that this was an option which allowed for an ethical way to love more than one partner. His novels were unusually valuable at the time for the extensive reading lists often included.
