Superb account of a time when romanticized visions of the opportunities offered by the New World abounded along with get rich quick ideas - even involving the draining of an enormous swamp to produce more land for planting. Lively and full of interesting detail of a greedy scheme that attracted all manner of schemers and dreamers. Reminded me of the South Sea Bubble and the Tulip Mania.
