The setting starts out at the palace of the Emperor of China in the 15th Century. Pong Lo, a farmer's son, employed as a worker is set out to prove that he could make as fine a prince that China ever saw! The farmer's son did asked the Emperor for his daughter's hand in marriage and was denied because he was only a farmer's son. However, the farmer's son was reward with something else. He requested a grain of rice... the Emperor laughed. The Pong Lo says if you wish, you can double the grain of rice for 100 days. During the end of 100 days, Pong Lo became a business man and was very wealthy and...

We left the ending out so that you can enjoy the read! This is an excellent read! My daughter enjoyed this book.
