I only gave the book 4 stars because I think you either need a mirror to look in or a partner to tell you if you have your body straight when you're doing yoga positions. So, this is good for people who have had some exposure to yoga or for people who have a helpful friend or partner.

This book is full of color photos showing how to get into each yoga position and what the position looks like once you are in it. Every position in the book is shown step-by-step with photos. There are notes that let you know you should not try a certain position if you have physical problems that might be aggravated by the position. For example, some positions are good for back problems, and others will strain your back.

At the back of the book, they recommend certain positions as being beneficial for specific medical conditions.

The positions shown in the book are: Perfect, Lotus, Blessed, Liberated, Adamantine, Swastik, Lion, Cowface, Hero's, Corpse, Cowherd, Squatting, Posterior-stretch, Contracted, Peacock, Concealed, Cock, Fish, Matsyendra, Tortoise, Tree, Stretched Tortoise, Frog, Eagle, Ox, Locust, Crocodile, Cobra, Yoga, Camel, Wheel, Supine Wind-Release, Angle, Boat, Bound-Lotus, Foot-Stretch, Hand-Toe, Peepal Tree, Upstretched Arms, Plough, Shoulder Stand, Bowing Down, Knee and Head, Palm Tree, Forward Bend, Lumbar Wheel, Supine Adamantine, Crow, Head Stand, Spinal Twist, Aural-Press.
