This is one of the most inane, over-hyped books I have run across ever. First, it's boring. The story doesn't come alive in the slightest until page 60 or so. Second, the writing is mediocre, nothing to praise there. Third, the premise of the book is improbable to the point of being ridiculous. Honestly, I struggled to finish the book, and after the one-third point kept looking at the back cover blurbs from Stephen King and others, wondering and wondering and wondering.
