This was a fun read, but a bit of a letdown at the end. The suspenseful finish to the book was well-written, but way too contrived. This is the author's first book, so I'm willing to cut her some slack. But if she's going to pull out the stereotypes: mixed-race, homosexual hairdresser, sex maniac friend, dingy friend, Jewish mother, SAHM going crazy... the author needs to pull out the stops and pull no punches. Good enough to give her second book a try to see if there is some improvement. The framework is good, but she needs to push the envelope more if I'm going to continue with this series for long.
