In her book Beautiful Things Happen When a Woman Trusts God, Sheila Walsh tackles the subject of trusting God. She uses 10 people from the Bible (the prophetess Anna, Mary & Martha, Paul, Tabitha, Gideon, Joseph, Samson, Nicodemus, & Abraham) along with her own story to address 12 types of beauty (the beauty of: courage, brokenness, transparency, waiting & being present, crying out to Jesus, seeing, a quiet trust, taking a step forward, forgiving, a last chance, giving your all, & a pilgrim). The book features an in-depth study guide which can be used individually or within a group study. Sheila's purpose in writing this book is to encourage the reader to learn to trust God more & through this, allow more beautiful things to happen in the reader's life.

I have read a number of Sheila's books in the past & so I was very excited to read her newest book. I was not disappointed. Sheila's down to earth & honest writing allows every reader to feel understood. Her writing is extremely easy to relate too. She utilizes Scripture throughout the book to support her subject. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. It is definitely one that will stay on my shelf & be read again & again. One of the final thoughts in Sheila's book sums up what this terrific book is all about, "When I stand before the Lamb of God & finally look into Jesus' eyes, I want my life to have become a thing of beauty-not because I got it all right but because with all my heart I trusted God."
