Wow! I have always enjoyed Dan Walsh's novels and this one was no different. I have never really read anything by Gary Smalley but the two authors together make this a wonderful book. This is good for anybody, not just those struggling in their marriage. It will make you realize how important loving each other is, no matter what you are going through.
I really enjoyed getting to know Marylin, Jim, Michele, Allan, uncle Henry, Charlotte and Audra. I am telling you, it was so beautiful. The whole plot is a woman who is married and given everything she can dream of except one thing. You guessed it, love. Her husband has no clue why she left and gets upset at first but then comes to realize a lot of things. And behind this whole lifetime you have the beginning at their wedding when Jim refused to dance with Marylin. It sounds so simple and yet there is so much more to it. Michele is wise beyond her years and I loved reading her thoughts.
I am warning you ahead of time, you better have the tissues handy. I was reading this late at night, had to finish it in a hurry, and I could not stop crying. Partly for the pain that Marylin went through and then partly for Jim who never even realized what his wife was going through. The ache is made very real in this book and hopefully you learn things that will never go away. Definitely a keeper!!
Available April 2013 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.
