Sooner was only 9..... with a runny nose, & raggedy clothes, & a harsh, brutal childhood spent with an enbittered, bootlegging, Bible-quoting old woman. Sooner's only warmth & companionship came from her woodland animal friends, a rewing blackbird & a little chipmunk. But then Sooner began a new life with Mac, a warm, giving veterinarian, & his wife Liz - who was unable to have any children.... & feared that she couldn't love at all.
