I enjoyed the first book in this series, it seemed to be well written, with likable, human, intelligent characters without any of the 'over the top' antics that seem so common in most books. Beautiful settings, mostly excellent writing, the only downside were the plots were a little weak.

However by the end of this book, #4, I was hoping Charlie's profound stupidity would prove to be fatal. In some ways it was as I don't intend to purchase any more of her books. Blindly missing clues is one issue, needless stupidity is another, particularly for a character that shows insight and intelligence during the first part of the book.

When reading these books I feel the last half of the book is rushed and poorly edited.
