Book Review of White Crochet

White Crochet

A lovely vintage (copyright 1988) book from Better Homes and Gardens on "white crochet"
which basically means mostly white thread crochet--however, some of the afghans call for baby or fingering yarn.
The book is divided into four sections, plus a "crocheting primer" to teach or remind of different crochet stitches---many of us, even avid crocheters, need a reminder from time to time and it is so convenient to have it in the book!
There are beautiful examples (with directions, of course) to make doilies, table mats and linens....a variety of things to crochet for the new baby.....and pretty bedspreads and afghans.
I love this book! It is 80 pages jam packed with beautiful crocheted art that anyone can learn to do! Just lovely.
Admittedly, I love the arts---and knitting, crochet, etc. appeal to me, whether seeing the artwork of another fiber artist or whether it is my own work. I do collect crochet patterns--and this book has an honored place on my bookshelves, with markers for the next project I plan to make!
