I received this book from another PBS member. It is not a hardcover, as stated in the above description. It is a large advance copy paperback.

A woman and her family have moved back to safety and comfort of the small town where she grew up. The idyllic setting is ruined when her best friend is found murdered and the cop in charge of the case is a stalking ex-boyfriend who won't leave her alone.

I really enjoyed this book. Set in the weeks following 9/11, this book underscores the idea that terror can come from those we know, not just from outsiders. The tension is palpable in this novel and the plot leaves you guessing the identity of the murderer.
