Book Review of A Gift of Grace (Kauffman Amish Bakery, Bk 1)

A Gift of Grace (Kauffman Amish Bakery, Bk 1)

I think I've fallen for an author. This is the second book I've reviewed by Amy Clipston. I enjoyed A Plain and Simple Christmas so much, I couldn't wait to read A Gift of Grace. I was not disappointed. Instead, Mrs. Clipston left me wanting more! A Gift of Grace is the first book of the Kauffman Bakery Series. You can be sure that I will read more of this series.

From Zondervan -
Synopsis:
When Rebecca Kauffmans older sister, who left the Amish community when she was a teenager, dies in an automobile accident, Rebecca is left custody of her two modern non-Amish teenage nieces, Jessica and Lindsay. Will she be able to reconcile the two worlds in her homeor will the clash of cultures tear her world, including her marriage, apart?

My thoughts -
I didn't want to put this book down! I stayed up way too late more than once. I put off things I should be doing - like laundry. (I hope my husband isn't reading this!)

Each character was described in superb detail. I enjoyed the depth of feeling that was expressed and not expressed from each of the main characters' point of view. I really like how Mrs. Clipston put emphasis on listening and hearing God and how difficult and yet simple that can be.

I didn't want it to end...and yet I did. I was so wrapped up in the story, I wanted resolution. I was surprised and happy with the ending.

I definitely give this book five stars.
I also give Mrs. Clipston five stars.
She was kind enough to comment on my review of A Plain and Simple Christmas.

Zondervan gave me this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed herein are my own.
