I enjoyed this audiobook, especially learning the truth about the very controversial parts of Brooke Shields' Hollywood life and that of her mother. Brooke and I are very close in age and I grew up watching her in movies and on TV. She's had a privileged life and seems to appreciate it, and not take it for granted. I'm sad she had to endure an alcoholic mother and I've seen the devastation that can bring to a family. The real story here is one of deep and strong co-dependency. After listening to the entire book, I still don't think that Shields ever truly understood the very depth of her and her mother's co-dependency on each other. There seems to be a great deal of denial about the stronghold each had on the other. I also felt the book was a tad too long, as my attention was waning about 3/4 of the way through. All in all, this is a well-done biography, and I loved that Shields narrated the audiobook herself.
