Excellent account of Picasso's famous mural which depicted the destruction of the Spanish town of Guernica by Nazi fighter pilots. This mural stood as a testament on the evils of modern warfare and fascism and is now located in the UN headquarters. Covers both the events that inspired the painter, public reaction to the events and the history and politics of the painting since that point. Written in a lively and accesible style.
