I very much enjoyed this first book in the Dangerous Type series by Paige Shelton. The characters were all fairly unique and likable. The heroine Clare works in a family owned specialty shop called The Rescued Word with Chester, her grandfather. It was fun reading about the restoration of old typewriters and rare books. The former mining town turned skiing village was also interesting. Shelton does a very good job describing the town and its inhabitants.
I very much liked that Clare had a brain, and didn't go running off half-cocked at every turn to go after the murderer. Her friendship with Jody (a local police officer) adds credibility to her having knowledge about the crime and clues. I also liked that the police weren't portrayed as being completely clueless.
Another fun part of the story was that the heroine gets to have a love interest. I really enjoy cozies that have a little bit of romance.
Overall, this was a quick and enjoyable read.
