This is the first book in quite awhile which I didn't want to put down and looked forward to picking up. Ryan Hyde likes stories with inter-generational relationships. We live in a society where most everything is age segregated, unfortunately both generations miss out. As a former public school teacher, I think that she picked the perfect main character in August. A teacher must love children/young people and believe in their future possibilities. The two brothers were believable and actions age appropriate. I wanted to take them home with me. I have read a few of this author's books and thought that Pay it Forward was one of her weaker stories, so if you are undecided, give another one of her books a try. Her books delve into serious issues and situations, but she writes about second chances and being aware of the people who you encounter, and the possibility that you can be a positive moment in their lives.
