All 4 of these novella are good. The first is very modern, involving social agencies for the homeless, with a complex mystery of a broken home.
The 2nd is a bit strange, with a different setting in New Mexico and not as much of an emphasis on Christmas, but an entriguing mystery anyway.
The 3rd is a lighter mystery with touches of humor, a woman PI trying to help a woman accused of killing her husband.
The 4th, The Empty Manger is a Crider Dan Rhodes mystery. There's a "living" manger scene with the body of a local councilwoman found nearby. The Sheriff has a long suspect list but, as usual, gets the killer. I enjoyed all 4 stories, but this was my favorite.
