For a year and a half, Gwendolyn Kidd has enjoyed the nighttime company of a man she picked up in a bar. She doesn't know his name. She doesn't know how he gets into her house at night, but the sex is out of this world. Things suddenly change in Gwen's life. Her younger sister Ginger is embroiled in Denver's seedy underworld. Many people are looking for Ginger and they aren't afraid to use Gwen to get to her. While looking for Ginger to warn her, Gwen comes to the notice of the head of a motorcycle gang and a police detective. But the person who says he will protect her is her mystery man, Cabe "Hawk" Delgado.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really don't know what to make of it. Hawk is an alpha male who is controlling and obsessive. His behavior is way over the top, yet I found myself starting to like him in the second half of the book. Gwen is kind of a ditz. Who sleeps with a guy for a year and a half without even knowing his name? Why does she put up with Hawk's attitude?

There are several other characters in this book. Most of the male characters are lusting after Gwen. This makes Hawk do his he-man routine and declare her "his woman". The writing is interesting. I liked the way the author kept me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what dramatic scene was next. We had a break-in, a drive-by shooting, and a kidnapping. Even though I liked KA's writing, her overuse of "babe" and "baby" drove me absolutely nuts. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
