This book is a major disappointment as a ending to a otherwise great series. I had a hard time finishing it. I had to keep telling myself "it would get better", half way through the book I would tell myself that "you read the series you have to finish to see how it ends, 75% through it I was telling myself" you read over half the book you can finish it just keep reading". Thankfully it started to pick up then but for the most part the book was just boring!!! OMG the whining Rachel did ALL through he book! I was starting to route for the bad guys to kill her just so she would stop whining about everything being her fault and how she wasn't good enough for him. SERIOUSLY! Does she not remember all the things he tried or did to her? I mean he turned her into a animal and kept her in a cage for what 2 years I think. Tried to kill her more then once. Stole her memories here and there. And lets not forget he has committed murder, theft, been a drug pusher and more. He's not a saint! And she's worried about not being good enough for him??? Am I the only one who was hoping for a serious discussion between the Trent and Rachel about their past leading up to them finally telling each other of their love for each other? I mean come on he did a lot to her and she to him don't you think some mention of it would have been nice. I mean they both have a lot of baggage there. I would have also liked Rachel to have voiced her feeling to AL and him, his for her. There was no growth between any of the characters. In fact many of them took major steps back and didn't feel like the same characters anymore.

I was also left with questions about the story - How did Newt become the goddess? What became of the everafter? How did Ivy become head of the IS along with Nina?

As for the jumping ahead 25 year that was just lame. I liked that Trent wanted to have a baby with her and get married and all but the rest was just a waist of words.

Over all the book was just a major disappointment. I wish I hadn't wasted my money of getting a signed first edition. It wasn't worth it.
