Book Review of From Russia with Love (Heartsong Presents, #417)

From Russia with Love (Heartsong Presents, #417)
skuzzycat avatar reviewed Enjoyable novel on

I enjoyed the premise of this novel, even though it is a bit far-fetched--two identical twin brothers, one happy-go-lucky, one serious and responsible. The happy-go-lucky brother arranges to get a Russian mail order bride, but pretends to be his serious twin during all the transactions. He does this because he thinks his serious brother is taking too long to get into a relationship, and thinks this is a good solution! LOL!

I liked the characters and the hero's family, who embraced this young woman and her child and tried to make the best out of the whole sorry mess. And of course, the hero is attracted to the heroine, but feels conflicted. Add more stress and trauma when the woman--so determined to do whatever it takes to keep her child in the USA and avoid the poverty she faces back in Russia--looks around for another husband before she must return back home. Her selflessness and love for her daughter were touching.

It's a short and sweet read, with some touching religious elements included. I didn't feel the religion was too "preachy" or forced, but obviously this book is geared towards fans of inspirational romance.
