I really liked this book! So much so that I ran straight to B&N to get the next two. (The waiting list was way too long for me to wait for it to be granted on my Wish List). This series reminds me of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series because of the constant action, many sexy guys, and a very strong heroine who is hard-edged and unapologetic about it. Mira (just like Anita) stays focused on getting the job done even though she would prefer to live somewhat peacefully in the routine life she has established for herself in Savannah. I liked the world that Drake created, as well as the supporting characters that were involved. The main male character, Danaus, is not fleshed out as much in this first book as I'd like, but lots of hints are thrown out about him so I think a lot more will be revealed about him in future books. I'm very interested in finding out his story and what will come of the relationship between Mira and Danaus, as well as seeing more of the supporting characters. Great book. I highly recommend it if you like urban vampire fantasy at all.
