Tom Ripleyesque tale of impersonation and double-deception and while this is a lot funnier than anything Patricia Highsmith ever wrote, the plot, unfortunately, is as full of holes as most of her efforts. DW was a very funny writer and parts of this book are really hilarious but the lack of resolution due to total implausiblity makes it unsatisfactory. What I mean is: the NY metro area police would demolish this case in very short order and the news media would be all over it instead of ignoring it. The plot and the writing just don,t jibe.
