This is a fascinating story about pirate in the Keys Islands during I think the 18th century and a treasure hunter in modern days. The story goes back & forth between time periods & the characters in each. The characters are well-developed & the story alone kept me reading to the end. Both of the main characters are dealing with issues concerning their fathers. How they resolve those issues makes for a sad ending in one case & a nice ending in the other. But the story itself feels so alive & I learned so much about the truth about pirates as well as treasure hunters.
