Miss Diana Highwood and her family had lived in Spindle Cove for the last two years due to her ill health. In those two years, her mother has tried to marry Diana to various Dukes and Viscounts to no avail. But Diana has her eyes on the village Blacksmith, Aaron Dawes. Aaron has been fascinated by Diana since she arrived in the village, but has kept his distance knowing she must marry a Gentleman, not a Laborer. But when Diana makes her interest known, Aaron's good intentions don't stand in the way of their feelings for each other.

I'm happy to see Diana Highwood gets her own story in this novella. I've liked her character since she was introduced in the first book. And, it made sense to have her fall in love with the Blacksmith after her mother pushed her toward various aristocrats. There is a side story about small items disappearing from the local rooming house. The revelation of the culprit was a surprise for me. My rating: 4 Stars.
