I wanted to like this book, but for me, it dragged. Like many of the reviewers, I think Nguyen straddled the line between fact and fiction. For some books that is humorous or adds to the story, but in this case I kept trying to remember what I knew about the real Laura Ingalls and Rose Wilder. Part of the story was her family's story and the other part was Ingalls' research, but they didn't come together well.
