This book was a complete waste of good reading time. I am not sure why everyone made a big fuss over how great it was. It sucked. The storyline is based on an interesting topic, but the book is depressing to no end and boring. The ending is the worst.
It's sickening how the mother paid all the attention to the sick daughter, Kate, and ignored the other two children. I also found Kate to be quite selfish. I felt bad for Anna because she was the poor, ignored daughter who had a good in her heart and she's the one that ends up with the tragic ending all due to her sister. Maybe Anna's better off anyhow. It's not like her life was great considering it revolved around Kate.
