It is divided into sections such as banking/money, lodging and hotels, transportation, food and drink, shopping, etc. The phrases included in each section are simple, clear, and helpful. The most recent revision of this book was in 2003 and it shows its age a bit in the sections regarding technology/computers/phones. There are maps of regions in France (including Paris) and Canada (including Quebec and Montreal). The book has a protective plastic cover and is small and lightweight, suitable for carrying with you.
