I picked this audiobook on a whim, having little to no experience with Sarah Silverman (other than knowing that she is a bawdy comic who used to date Jimmy Kimmel). I am not sure what I expected from the book, but it was pretty much a memoir from her childhood to now.

There was plenty here to chuckle at--especially Sarah's growing up surrounded by WASPs in New England. Add to that her bedwetting. I enjoyed reading this part of the book and it was quite funny.

The book continues through her stand-up career, her TV show, and the controversies her comedy has caused. Since I have rarely heard her comedy, I can report it involves every bodily function you can think of, racial jokes, rape jokes, religion jokes, and sex jokes. I feel as though I can't fault her for this (even the parts I found offensive) since if I would have heard her act, I would have known what I was getting, but the truth is, these jokes got to be quite tedious. How many jokes can you hear about bizarre sex acts before you say ENOUGH?!?!

If I would have been reading this book, I probably would have liked it even less. There were many sections, which all seemed to be 1-2 pages long. Sarah's voice makes them more entertaining than they would be if I were merely reading this book on paper.

So, in a nutshell, if Sarah's comedy is something you like, expect her to reiterate every poop/sex/pee/racial joke she has ever told in this book. If you've never heard of her and are easily offended, SKIP THIS BOOK.
