From Publishers Weekly: Hutchinson writes that her book "isn't about changing your body. It's about learning to love and accept the body you already have. It's making your body a home you can live with." Drawing on her experience as a workshop leader in the Boston area, the author sets forth a program designed to improve "body-esteem." The key is a series of sometimes obscure exercises designed to do such things as train the "imaginal muscles," get to know one's body image, determine the role models one formed during childhood and pinpoint the sub-personalities that take part in the ongoing struggle with one's body. Readers are likely to find that this self-help doesn't stand on its own; participation in the author's workshops appears to be a prerequisite to grasping and appreciating the concepts she describes.
