This is another Deborah Knott mystery set in North Carolina.

Deborah agrees to fill in for another judge in the mountains of North Carolina during the during the fall when the leaves are at their peak.

Before Deborah can pause to enjoy the mountain views and spectacular fall colors, she has to preside over a preliminary hearing for a young man accused of murdering his girl friend's father.

And she is just getting interested in that murder, when another occurs at a party she is attending. Needless to say, her time in the mountains is a bit busier than she expected.

This is a fine mystery with a distinctive setting. I enjoyed it very much.
