This book will slip under the radar of less aware bookworms. It is not a Harry Potter, nor is it a Narnia, or a Lord of the Rings- it doesn't even fall into the same category. For while I think most of us can't deny the previously mentioned are all books of worthy substance, they all bend to certain rules and themes commonly found in thousands and thousands of fantasy books. Due to the fact that she is a college writer new to both the stage and the real world, Ms. Greenway is unaffected by social and mainstream restrictions, still in touch with her inner child of creativity. This makes her not only interesting as a writer, but original. Although the end of Darien's quest may be somewhat predictable, the path that takes him there winds and loops around and disappears for a while; it climbs and drops brings you to places unexplored by most fantasy writers. This book is definitely worthy of one read, or ten; but be warned that it is is only meant for readers willing to stray off the beaten track.
