3.5 - I think the people who hate this book are one of the following things: kissers of Frey's ass/people who like/don't mind being lied to/people who don't have a decent sense of humor.
The rest of the world will get some laughs out of this. It's been years since I read Frey's load of crap (I feel inclined to mention I knew and spoke on the fact that it was indeed crap long before Oprah let the cat out of the bag) and I was a little nervous that I wouldn't remember enough to "get" this humor. Well, I was nervous for nothing - it all came flooding back, and I do mean all. A Million Little Pieces (I italicize book/author names in reviews - I feel the need to also point this out for the observant souls out there) was such a load of steaming horse shit that there was no way I couldn't remember it all! (Does it deserve another star for that? Since, in all honesty, it being so bad actually helped this one along?)
I laughed out loud some times, I chuckled even more times, and I felt a strange sense of pity for someone who has to fake his own memoir.
After all is said and done I can honestly recommend this to those of you who don't like being lied to, enjoy sarcastic humor like this, and who think Frey should crawl under a rock and just.......
Special thank you going out to Rhoda Booke for the author illustration - absolutely awesome! :D
