To me, there is something off with the pacing of this book. I have read many HRS books, and for the most part they are indeed heart pounding. Some of this book read like a high school paper--dull and unimaginative. I didn't like Kadin or Penny, and I thought their relationship was forced and false. They had unprotected sex and you can guess how that turned out, and also Penny drank wine after she knew she was pregnant! Really?? In this day and age, this kind of stuff should never appear in a book. As soon as I found out who the bad guy was, I skimmed to the end of the book. It was almost a DNF for me. I won't be reading the next book in this series, and probably nothing more from this author.
