When I realized that Claire, the main character of this book, has early onset Alzheimer's I nearly put it down because my father was also claimed by early onset Alzheimer's and I was afraid that it would be "too close to home" for me to enjoy. I was wrong, this is a beautifully written story of how it affects each member of the family. The author's passages about Claire and her disintegration are so real, poignant and touching.
