I really liked Kate, the heroine, because she has grown into a strong, competent woman, despite a harsh beginning & unfair treatment. But (sorry Ms. Hunter)the hero, Colin Bocastle, was a dog. He was arrogant, stubborn, completely in love with himself, supremely self-confident, totally convinced that he was sexually irresistable, & did I say arrogant? And that dog of a character brought my reading enjoyment waaaay down, despite the fact that I really like this author. The rest of the story, and the secondary characters, were lively & entertaining.
