I finished it, but barely. I normally like Gaston's books, but in this one the heroine's family, that she was sacrificing so much to keep together, were TSTL. All of them, mother, father, sister, and brother, annoyed the heck out of me.
There was also too much going on in the plot. The hero had a Big Secret and a hidden identity, the heroine also had a traumatic Big Secret, plus the family's money problems, and an unwanted suitor with bad intentions. There was not enough time for everything to get resolved, so one of the big problems gets hand waved away in a couple of sentences in the epilogue. That's it, after the heroine is obsessing about it for literally the whole book!
