I just love historical stories like the ones enclosed in these pages. The hardest thing? Picking a favorite!! I just fell in love with the characters from beginning to end, and even the ones in the prologue:) I laughed from the start and found myself enjoying the tales in each novella. These are short but they are well fleshed out. And, they feature women who may not be conventional in their time but I had the surprise of liking each of them in their own way.

The book opens with a preacher bemoaning the way he had to leave a woman. He loves her but she just doesn't fit in his mold. A preachers wife is supposed to be meek, quiet, and not loud and wild thinking like Elizabeth. So out in the middle of a convention for preachers(they are having a campfire prayer time) he accidentally says something out loud. Which the other preachers hear and when he tells them his story, they open up about some of their parishioners. And boy is it a fun ride! Their stories become the novellas which make up this book. If you like a rip roaring novel filled with humor, love and God, then this book is for you!! I loved it!!

I received a copy of this book for my review purposes. All thoughts are 100% mine.
